ESB DL-44 Stunt

$120.00

This is an all resin 1:1 replica of the ESB stunt blaster. All parts are pressure cast in black urethane resin, assembled and painted to look old and heavily used. The scope is a one off cast of a real M19 scope. Many of the greeeblies are cast from original Revell visible engine parts as used by the original blaster. All other greeblies and the scope mount were recreated using photos of the original prop. Everything is assembled onto a one off cast of a replica Broomhandle Mauser C96.
This blaster has a very cool history, it was created for The Empire Strikes Back and was used as a light weight holster stuffer and stunt blaster. It also was used in Return of the Jedi for the same purpose but was also the inspiration of Han Solo’s Hero blaster for that movie also. Also the ESB Stunt shares some details that link it to the Merr-Sonn power 5 and Han’s hero DL-44 from ANH. The Merr-Sonn blaster was created from a cast of the Mauser used to create Han’s hero DL-44. It’s not know if the ESB stunt was a repurposed prop from ANH or cast from molds from ANH but it’s still cool to see how these props evolved from one to the other and this blaster is a cool link between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.
